BOSTON RED SOX HAPPY AND SAD ABOUT WORLD SERIES WIN!

Boston, MA - The Boston Red Sox are very happy about their World Series win over the St. Louis Cardinals last night.  We want to thank all the fans for their love, support and patience over the years.  "It has taken us a while, but we finally did it!  We will be celebrating and savoring this victory for a long time!" said World Series MVP, Manny Ramirez.

Although we are very happy about our World Series win, we are also a little saddened by it.  The Boston Red Sox took great pride and had one hell of a sense of humor in being known as "the Susan Lucci of major league baseball."

For those of you who don't know who Susan Lucci is, she is the star of the daytime soap opera, All My Children.  She portrays Erica Kane.  Erica Kane is the most famous fictional character in daytime television history.  Susan finally won an Emmy award after 19 nominations.  She is the biggest loser in television history!  She is also one of its most famous.

We feel a special kinship with Susan that we don't want to lose.  Oddly enough, like Susan, losing so much actually made us more famous than if we would have won 50 World Series Championships.

Again, we are very happy about our World Series win and breaking the 86 year old curse of the Bambino, but our hearts are a little heavier at possibly losing the coveted title of "the Susan Lucci of major league baseball" to another team.  It is a title we have held for a long time.

The Boston Red Sox will hold a press conference tonight at 7:00 pm.
